Sensory-focused primary school located at Sydney Olympic Park explores an inclusive model for exploratory learning that foregrounds multi-sensory engagement for all students. The design explores flexible learning environments combining robust modular steel and timber structures with playful color, texture, and natural materials. Classrooms are clustered by age around COLAs and landscaped courtyards, each with direct access to outdoor learning terraces to embed nature in everyday activities and support fluid movement between indoor and outdoor lessons.
A central landscaped spine organises the campus as a communal gathering space, connecting classroom clusters with shared amenities while integrating local materials, Indigenous narratives, and native planting. Passive environmental strategies, rainwater harvesting, and low-impact systems minimise the ecological footprint, positioning the school as a prototype for sustainable, community-oriented education.
